As a Ship Mechanic, you work hands-on with mechanical and electrical equipment, solve technical challenges and take responsibility from day one. While keeping a tanker safely and efficiently in operation, you will discover new countries, face exciting tasks and experience a working environment where no two days are the same. Living and working at sea will push you out of your comfort zone and help you grow both professionally and personally while being part of a strong international team.
We are open to a long-term collaboration after the apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of the training, we support further development and consider potential opportunities within the company.
Commencing 1 August 2026, we are looking for committed and motivated apprentices to join our team as Ship Mechanicson board one of our tankers.
Carrying out maintenance and repair tasks on deck and in the engine room
Assisting with mooring and unmooring operations, including arrival and departure manoeuvres
Monitoring loading and discharging operations while in port
Acquiring the required watchkeeping licence for both deck and engine duties
Actively participating in rescue and fire drills as well as general safety exercises
Residence in Germany
Secondary school certificate with good grades in Mathematics, Physics and English
Good technical understanding and manual skills
Willingness to learn, ability to work in a team and a strong interest in the shipping industry
Physical fitness and possession of a valid medical certificate for sea service
Please note:
The school-based vocational training takes place in Travemünde, Germany. All lessons are held in German.
