Job summary

Prairie Companies is seeking a reliable Crude Oil Driver for Artesia, NM. This night shift role requires strict safety adherence, DOT compliance, and the ability to manage loads on lease roads. 6/2 or 5/3 rotations apply.

You will perform tank gauging, pre/post-trip inspections, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards and vehicle readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience hauling crude oil or similar hazardous liquids.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends; clean MVR; ability to pass DOT drug/alcohol screening.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Crude Oil/Company Drivers to Join our team in Artesia, NM. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, DOT regulations, and company policies. This is a night time position with a 6/2 or 5/3 rotation.

Responsibilities

• Transport crude oil safely from lease locations to designated delivery points
• Gauge tanks accurately to measure oil volume before and after loading
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Follow all safety procedures for hazardous material handling
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical readiness of truck and trailer
• Communicate with dispatch regarding load schedules, delays, or issues
• Operate safely in various weather and road conditions
• Comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and company regulations

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience hauling crude oil or similar hazardous liquids preferred
• Familiarity with oilfield locations and lease roads a plus
• Physically able to climb tanks, handle hoses, and work outdoors in all conditions
• Must be able to chain up
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends
• Strong attention to detail and safety-first mindset
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements
• Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
• Ability to pass DOT drug/alcohol screening
