Job summary

Prairie Companies is seeking a reliable Crude Oil Driver for Artesia, NM. This night shift role requires strict safety adherence, DOT compliance, and the ability to manage loads on lease roads. 6/2 or 5/3 rotations apply.

You will perform tank gauging, pre/post-trip inspections, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining high safety standards and vehicle readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience hauling crude oil or similar hazardous liquids.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends; clean MVR; ability to pass DOT drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Transport crude oil from lease locations to delivery points.
• Gauge tanks to measure oil volume before and after loading.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Follow safety procedures for hazardous materials handling.
• Maintain truck and trailer cleanliness and mechanical readiness.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding load schedules and delays.
• Operate safely in various weather and road conditions.
• Comply with DOT, FMCSA, and company regulations.
