Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) is seeking a hands-on Tank/Container Technician to assist welders and mechanics with pressure testing, drying tanks, repairing valves, and buffing inside tanks.

Based at 16230 De Zavalla Road, Channelview, TX, you will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with starting pay of $20.00–$22.00 per hour and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, and more.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Must wear respirator and work at heights on tanks.
• Able to work in enclosed tank spaces.

Responsibilities

• Pressure test tanks, drain and dry out tanks
• Repair and replace tank container valves, gaskets, and gauges
• Operate hoists, cranes, and precision measuring/testing instruments
• Observe and listen to mechanical devices to diagnose issues
• Repair and replace defective parts, inspect and adjust used parts
• Lubricate and clean parts
• Operate lathe, drill press and grinders
• Use hand tools and power tools
• Buff Tanks as needed

Role Overview

Assist tank welder and mechanics with pressure testing, drying out tanks, repair tank containers and buffing inside of tank as needed.

Position Responsibilities

• Pressure test tanks, drain and dry out tanks
• Repair and replace tank container valves, gaskets, and gauges
• Operate hoists, cranes, and precision measuring and testing instruments
• Observe and listen to mechanical devices to diagnose causes of mechanical issues
• Repair and replace defective parts, inspect and adjust used parts
• Lubricate and clean parts
• Operate lathe, drill press and grinders
• Use hand tools and power tools
• Buff Tanks as needed

Qualifications

• Candidates will possess a mechanical background
• Possess good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Detailed oriented
• Ability to wear a respirator, be comfortable with both heights on top of tanks
• Work in enclosed spaces inside of tanks

Starting Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
