Job summary

Stronghold is seeking a Welder A for work in petrochemical refinery environments, performing welding on flat, cylindrical or irregular parts and setting up EGW, SAW, FCAW, and SMAW processes.

Candidates should read blueprints, pass weld inspections, mentor junior welders, and work in 2G/3G/4G positions; travel across the U.S. may be required and safety standards must be strictly followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive knowledge of EGW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW.
• Experience in the petrochemical industry.

Responsibilities

• Weld flat, cylindrical or irregular parts that may be clamped, tack-welded or otherwise positioned.
• Visually examine welds for adherence to specifications.
• Mentor other welders; assist where needed and train where needed.
• Operate other machine shop equipment to prepare components for welding.
• Weld in the 2G, 3G and 4G positions in FCAW and SMAW.
