Job summary

wabashcareers is seeking a Welder Mechanic II to service, repair, and maintain tank trailers and containers. The role spans electrical, plumbing, welding, insulation, painting, decals, and more, requiring physical versatility in a busy shop environment.

Responsibilities include repairs per blueprints, inspections for safety, and ensuring compliance with DOT and ASME standards. A resilient, safety-minded candidate with experience in heavy equipment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing electrical and plumbing systems on tanks and containers.
• Ability to perform structural repairs and weld on various metals.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Safety-focused with PPE compliance and DOT/ASME standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service electrical wiring and plumbing on tanks/containers.
• Conduct structural repairs including framing, insulation, and fenders.
• Execute cleaning, priming, painting and decal installation tasks.
• Perform MIG/TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.
• Fabricate components from blueprints and move trailers safely in shop.
• Inspect tanks and trailers for leaks, safety, and compliance.
