Job summary

Matrix Service Company seeks a Tank Foreman to assist the Operations Manager by supervising field crews, coordinating equipment, and interfacing with QA/QC and the customer. The role involves travel to project sites across multiple states and requires strong leadership and blueprint-reading skills.

The position emphasizes safety, adherence to design specifications, and collaboration with field engineering to ensure compliant construction and timely project execution.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent understanding of Aboveground Storage Tanks – focus on Tank Maintenance and Repair experience is required.
• Experience running a crew is required.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and/or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of API standards, preferred.
• Ability to travel to multiple project sites in different states throughout the year is required.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its Core Values.

• Performs system verification on completed systems to ensure correct installation per design specifications.
• Reviews NDE reports at jobs to ensure that all code and customer requirements have been met.
• Assist in planning work schedule, determining personnel needed, material quantities and equipment requirements.
• Supervise craft workers assigned to area of responsibility, provide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
• Monitor work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures and safety requirements are maintained.
• Advise senior level superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties; assist in resolving such problems, as required.
• Ensure all company, department and technical policies, procedures, and standards, are adhered to. Interpret policies, as required.
• Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.
