Job summary

Univar Solutions USA Inc in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Material Handler to support tank farm operations and ensure safe, efficient warehousing of chemicals. The role includes handling shipping/receiving, equipment inspections, and safe storage of materials.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock, performing monthly fire system checks, and ensuring compliance with labeling and waste regulations. You must operate a forklift, lift heavy objects, and work in an environment with chemicals.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate an industrial powered lift truck or forklift according to company procedures and governmental regulations.
• Knowledge of cGMP requirements as it pertains to FDARP as applicable to the facility.
• Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with training.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient operation of the tank farm facilities.
• Shipping and receiving of bulk chemicals in the tank farm; ensure prompt and accurate filling, packing, and shipping of orders.
• Ensure compliance with all State and Federal labeling and shipping laws and regulations on merchandise shipped from warehouse.
• Inspect and check tank farm equipment and facilities to ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition.
• Maintain warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment.
• Make monthly inspection of plant fire control system.
• Maintain warehouse stocks after they are received and ensure aisles and warehouse floor are cleaned.
• Prepare a monthly list of all empty containers, un-repairable pallets, distressed stock, and miscellaneous non-usable materials and submit to Warehouse Manager.
• Exchange workers with warehouse sections as needed
• Complete inspections and paperwork associated with hazardous waste generation and waste pickup transport.
• Report problems with tank farm operation to Warehouse or Operations Manager
