Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking an M1 Armor Crewman to keep the unit ready to roll, operating tanks such as the M1A2 Abrams and other armored vehicles to engage and destroy enemy forces. You’ll perform vehicle operation, target identification, and communications while learning armor offensive/defensive tactics, map reading, and field combat strategy.

Training lasts 15 weeks of One Station Unit Training, with paid drill weekends.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment required with Army National Guard.
• Must be 17–35 years old and meet physical and moral standards.
• High school diploma or GED; citizenship requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate tracked and wheeled vehicles over varied terrain.
• Use communications equipment to receive and relay orders.
• Read maps, compasses, and battle plans.
