Job summary

Omaha Tribe of Nebraska in Macy, Nebraska is seeking a Case Manager to provide client services to TANF applicants. The role includes interviewing clients to gather financial and demographic information, assessing situations, and developing and evaluating case/service plans.

You will verify information, document records, make referrals to community resources, conduct home visits, and ensure timely TANF reporting while advocating for federally recognized enrolled tribal clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree in Human Services or related field with one year case work experience preferred.
• Twenty-four semester hours of college coursework with a Human Services focus or related field with two years relevant experience in customer service, determining eligibility for public assistance, processing financial loan applications or medical/unemployment claims, unemployment services, or any combination of experience in the above areas is required

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with people to gather financial and demographic information via telephone and face-to-face.
• Verify client information, obtain proper documentation for each client file, and maintain up-to-date client case files.
• Assess client situations and develop client case/service plans.
• Document all client contacts, referrals, services, and activity.
• Conduct home visits every month as needed.
• Enter all client files and activity in the Data Bank (TAS) computer systems in a timely and accurate manner.
• Identify community resources and develop relationships for client referrals.
• Work with and advocate on behalf of federally recognized enrolled tribal clients to access community services available to them.
• Provide supportive case services related to self-sufficiency for clients, which may include transporting clients.
• Administer random urinalysis to active TANF clients.
• Provide ongoing support and counseling to sanctioned clientele.
• Complete and provide all required TANF reports on time.
• Other duties as assigned.
