Job summary

GIST Research Ltd is creating a talent pool for future Project Manager roles focused in the Middle East, including Iraq, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. Project Manager - (TALENT POOL)

Location: Remote (must be able to work to Middle East time zones, with around 10% of time on project sites)

About This Talent Pool

We are creating a Project Manager talent pool for upcoming and anticipated work in the Middle East (mainly Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon).

About The Role

Project Managers play a central role in the successful delivery of projects across aid, security and development contexts, often in fragile and conflict‑affected settings.

  • End-to‑end project management, from mobilisation to close‑out
  • Day‑to‑day coordination of technical advisory teams and consultants
  • Budget oversight, financial forecasting and value‑for‑money monitoring
  • Risk management, including maintaining risk registers and liaising with security teams
  • Donor and stakeholder engagement, including regular client communication
  • Oversight of monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting requirements
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and people management where required
  • Contributing to organisational learning and future opportunities
About You
  • Experience in project management within the aid, security and/or development sectors
  • Experience managing projects funded by bilateral or multilateral donors (e.g. FCDO, EU, UN agencies, World Bank, USG)
  • Strong budgeting, financial management and risk management skills
  • Confidence working with diverse, multi‑national teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused approach
  • Comfort working remotely across time zones and travelling to field locations
  • Strong IT skills, particularly across MS 365, including Excel
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in regional languages is a bonus
