Human Resources | Jefferson City, Missouri

Are you energized by helping people learn, grow, and become more confident in what they do?

Missouri Farm Bureau is looking for a Talent Development Specialist or Senior Talent Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This role combines learning design, facilitation, content development, onboarding, and partnership with leaders across the organization to create practical learning experiences that help employees succeed.

Depending on experience, the selected candidate may be hired at either the Talent Development Specialist or Senior Talent Development Specialist level.

For generations, Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance has been committed to protecting Missouri families, supporting our communities, and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Behind that commitment is a team of employees who care deeply about the work they do and the people they serve. We believe developing our employees is an important part of building a strong organization, and this position plays a meaningful role in helping our people continue to learn, grow, and perform at their best.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll help turn business needs, processes, and ideas into learning experiences employees can actually use.

You’ll:

  • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and performance gaps.
  • Design and deliver engaging instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, and blended learning experiences.
  • Translate complex processes, systems, and information into clear, practical training resources.
  • Create job aids, reference guides, assessments, knowledge checks, and microlearning content.
  • Support onboarding and foundational training for newly hired employees.
  • Maintain training materials, checklists, manuals, templates, and coaching resources.

  • Equip supervisors and leaders with resources that support coaching and employee development.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness and use feedback and performance indicators to continually improve training.
  • Coordinate training schedules, enrollment, facilities, technology, and learning platforms.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and leaders throughout our Home Office and field locations.

At the Senior Talent Development Specialist level, you’ll also serve as a strategic learning partner, leading more complex needs assessments, advising leaders on development strategies, and taking ownership of larger or enterprise-wide learning initiatives.

What You Bring

You’re someone who can take a complicated topic and make it understandable. You’re equally comfortable developing content behind the scenes and standing in front of a group to bring that content to life.

  • A solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across different departments and levels of the organization.
  • Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • A practical, learner-focused approach to developing training.
  • Strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping others succeed.
  • The ability to analyze information, identify learning needs, and adapt content for different audiences.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems is helpful.
  • Insurance industry knowledge is a plus, but it is not required.
