Clera is building the first truly AI-native recruiting platform. This hybrid-remote role leads operations for AI agent-powered sourcing, screening, and placement, ensuring human judgment guides scalable decisions.

You will oversee end-to-end recruitment workflows, intervene in high-stakes conversations, and shape how humans and agents collaborate to deliver exceptional candidate experiences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in talent operations, recruitment, or sourcing at early-stage tech startups.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to evaluate quality and identify errors.
• Experience designing end-to-end recruitment processes including sourcing, screening, and offers.
• Proven ability to monitor high-volume candidate pipelines (hundreds to thousands weekly).
• Track record closing placements and managing final-stage conversations.

About the Role

This is a first-of-its-kind operations role at a pre-seed AI recruiting startup, sitting at the intersection of human judgment and autonomous agent technology. You will be the person who makes AI-driven recruiting actually work at scale, supervising intelligent agents that source, message, and qualify candidates end to end. The role carries real influence: you will help define what AI-native talent operations looks like as the company grows.

What You'll Do

• Monitor live AI agent pipelines, flag errors, and intervene when human judgment is needed.
• Handle high-stakes candidate conversations, including senior roles, tricky objections, and compensation negotiations.
• Review agent outputs, label good and bad responses, and write examples that improve AI performance over time.
• Audit candidate matches, outreach quality, and conversion rates across thousands of weekly touchpoints.
• Guide candidates through final stages, manage offers, and ensure successful placements.
• Document what works, create standard operating procedures, and help define how humans and agents collaborate.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years in talent operations, recruitment, or sourcing at early-stage tech startups.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools (large language models or similar) to evaluate quality, identify errors, and understand AI capabilities and limitations.
• Proven ability to design and optimize end-to-end recruitment processes: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and candidate experience.
• Experience monitoring and quality-assuring high-volume candidate pipelines (hundreds to thousands of weekly touchpoints).
• Track record closing placements and managing final-stage conversations, including offer negotiation and objection handling.
• Comfort using data to drive decisions: KPIs, dashboards, A/B tests, and conversion rate analysis.
• Experience providing structured feedback to improve AI or ML systems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership teams in a startup environment.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies is a plus for communicating effectively with engineers.
• Experience documenting processes or building operational playbooks is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus uncapped performance-based compensation tied to placements. Top performers earn significantly more. Equity grants are available after a successful 90-day performance window.

Location

Hybrid, based in San Francisco, California. Optional access to a shared team workspace in the city. Remote candidates within the United States will also be considered.
