Job summary

American Cementing LLC is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions. You will partner with hiring managers and HR to understand staffing needs, craft compelling job descriptions, source top talent, and guide candidates through interviewing, offers, and onboarding.

The role requires proactive sourcing, strong assessment skills, and strict adherence to recruitment processes and laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Communications or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Experience recruiting for field, skilled trades, technical, professional, or operational roles is preferred.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruiting technology is required.

Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process and implementing effective talent acquisition strategies to attract, evaluate, and hire qualified candidates across various functions and levels within the organization. This position partners closely with hiring managers and Human Resources to understand workforce needs, develop effective recruitment strategies, and provide a professional and consistent candidate experience from initial sourcing through the hiring and onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of the full-cycle recruitment process, including job requisition intake, sourcing, candidate screening, interviewing, selection, offer coordination, and pre-employment processing.
  • Partner with hiring managers and Human Resources to understand staffing needs, establish hiring criteria, and develop accurate and compelling job descriptions and job postings.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve recruiting processes, candidate experience, sourcing effectiveness, and overall efficiency.
  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, professional networks, social media, employee referrals, recruiting events, and other appropriate channels.
  • Review applications and resumes, conduct candidate screens and interviews, assess qualifications, and recommend qualified candidates for consideration.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and hiring managers regarding compensation, offers, and employment terms within established company guidelines and approval processes.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process to promote a positive candidate experience.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate and requisition information within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other applicable recruiting systems.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present regular recruiting reports and updates to leadership and management, including open requisitions, candidate pipeline activity, time-to-fill, hiring progress, sourcing effectiveness, and other applicable recruiting metrics. Identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to address recruiting challenges and improve results.
  • Ensure recruitment and selection practices are conducted in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Represent American Cementing at career fairs, recruiting events, industry networking events, schools, and other talent acquisition activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational goals.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume, or multi-location environment.
  • Experience recruiting for field, skilled trades, technical, professional, or operational positions is preferred.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruiting technology required.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of recruiting practices, candidate assessment, interviewing techniques, and applicable employment laws.
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle recruiting and candidate sourcing strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive candidate and employee information.
Critical Tasks / Performance Goals
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50%, including domestic air travel, to support recruiting activities, company districts, career fairs, and other business needs.
  • Effectively support hiring managers and candidates across multiple geographic locations and time zones.
  • Demonstrate initiative, accountability, adaptability, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving recruiting challenges.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Regular exposure to moving machinery, outdoor weather conditions, diesel fumes, chemicals, dust, and moderate to loud noise levels, depending on work location.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, lower, carry, and move materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and working at ground level for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb and descend ladders, steps, platforms, and equipment while maintaining balance and stability.
  • Requires sufficient manual dexterity and fine motor coordination to operate tools, manipulate small parts, assemble and disassemble components, and perform maintenance or operational tasks.
  • Requires the physical stamina to perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other required safety equipment, as applicable.
  • Requires visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, identify defects, and safely perform assigned job duties.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other personnel in shop, office, and field environments, as applied.
