Job summary

American Cementing LLC is seeking a Field Engineer I-III to provide technical and engineering support for cementing operations. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers, perform field inspections, analyze job requirements, and deliver practical technical solutions to meet needs on site.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 4+ years in oilfield services (cementing preferred). You’ll work with lab, logistics, and field teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • Chemical, Mechanical, Civil & Petroleum Engineering are preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in oilfield services or energy (cementing preferred).
  • Field experience in cementing operations, including job design and execution.
  • Laboratory and/or sales experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee customer needs, engineering activities, and quality control processes.
  • Prepare written job recommendations and computer models to support field operations.
  • Work with customer engineering teams to analyze well conditions and job specifications.
  • Coordinate with lab, logistics, and operations to prepare equipment and materials for jobs.
  • Develop and evaluate lab tests to confirm appropriate products and systems are used.
  • Conduct on-site quality and safety inspections during job execution.
  • Deliver technical training to district equipment operators and service supervisors.
  • Support onboarding and technical development of new Field Engineers.
  • Perform other duties to support operational goals.

Position Summary

The Field Engineer is responsible for providing technical and engineering support to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of cementing operations. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and customers, performing field inspections, analyzing job requirements, and delivering technical solutions to meet customer and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee customer needs, engineering activities, and quality control processes.
  • Prepare written job recommendations and computer models to support field operations.
  • Work closely with customer engineering teams to analyze well conditions and job specifications.
  • Coordinate with lab technicians, logistics, and operations personnel to ensure equipment and materials are prepared for jobs.
  • Develop and evaluate lab tests to confirm that appropriate products and systems are used for each job.
  • Conduct on-site quality and safety inspections during job execution.
  • Deliver technical training to district equipment operators and service supervisors.
  • Support the onboarding and technical development of new Field Engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
  • Chemical, Mechanical, Civil & Petroleum Engineering are preferred
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in the oilfield services or energy industry (cementing experience preferred).
  • Field experience in cementing operations, including job design and execution.
  • Laboratory and/or sales experience is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Regular exposure to moving machinery, outdoor weather conditions, diesel fumes, chemicals, dust, and moderate to loud noise levels, depending on work location.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, lower, carry, and move materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and working at ground level for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb and descend ladders, steps, platforms, and equipment while maintaining balance and stability.
  • Requires sufficient manual dexterity and fine motor coordination to operate tools, manipulate small parts, assemble and disassemble components, and perform maintenance or operational tasks.
  • Requires the physical stamina to perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other required safety equipment, as applicable.
  • Requires visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, identify defects, and safely perform assigned job duties.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other personnel in shop, office, and field environments, as applicable.
