Full Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for executing various Human Resources related tasks at the professional level, with limited supervision. Their key role is to efficiently source, recruit, and hire top talent for our university. They collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing requirements and formulate effective strategies to attract and engage qualified candidates.

Essential Functions
  • Recruit candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and professional networks.
  • Screen resumes and participate in interview committees to assess candidates' qualifications.
  • Manage the recruitment process from start to finish, including job postings, interviews, job offers, and rejection notices.
  • Ensure positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Review and approve employment requisitions.
  • Monitor and maintain internal tracking system up to date with incoming requests.
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel; develop recruitment programs to attract applicants and fill specific job openings.
  • Perform reference checks or schedule interviews in some cases.
  • Provide information about the organization and job opportunities to potential applicants; coordinate, set up displays for participation in job fairs.
  • Create and manage job postings and collaborate with external sources to advertise job openings to attract applicants.
  • Maintain a heavy administrative process, generate reports on quarterly metrics, and oversee the maintenance and administration of the applicant tracking system.
  • Track applicant pool for compliance purposes, generating reports based on this data.
  • Maintain and update all recruitment information in internal systems and folders.
  • Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in the efficiency of the department and services provided.
  • Participate in developing goals and objectives for respective areas of responsibility and improving HR processes and systems; administer various human resources plans and procedures, assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain policies and procedure manuals.
  • Review, track, and update internal forms utilized for position classifications and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Close out all recruitment efforts, including but not limited to effectively updating statuses in Peoplesoft, generating offer letters, gathering all recruitment related documentation.
  • Consult with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
  • Assist in various onboarding and immigration duties, ensuring that employees have proper documentation for eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and other types of meetings and seminars.
  • Participate in annual campus functions and events such as commencement, convocation, retirement activities, health fairs, and job fairs. Occasional travel may be required.
  • Keep abreast of law changes through UT System. Comply with all State and University policies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to learn and use institutional software systems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four–year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.
  • Experience: Three years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
