Truss Vet is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead full-cycle recruiting across our veterinary urgent care clinics and home office. You will partner with clinic leaders and the Director of People to build candidate pipelines and drive hiring excellence in a fast-growing, mission-driven team.
The role is hybrid with 3 days in person in Durham, NC, and requires travel to recruiting events throughout the year. You’ll shape how we attract top talent who share our mission and values.
A few years ago, we asked a question: what if pets with problems that can’t wait — but don’t belong in the ER — had somewhere great to go? And what if the people providing that care actually loved their jobs? Today the answer is Truss Vet, with six veterinary urgent care clinics across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, a growing community of doctors, and more on the way.
At Truss Vet, we’re on a mission to elevate the human-animal bond by removing barriers to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. Our urgent care clinics are built for pets with non-life-threatening issues that don’t belong in the ER but can’t wait for a regular vet visit. The sweet spot between general practice and emergency care. We deliver exceptional medical outcomes while ensuring a better quality of life for our team. Yes, both. That’s the whole point.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will help Truss Vet grow by finding and attracting exceptional people who share our mission and values. Reporting to the Director of People, you'll manage full-cycle recruiting across our clinics and home office, partnering with hiring managers to fill critical roles, build candidate pipelines, and deliver a positive candidate experience. This is an opportunity to shape how we attract talent and build the teams that will support our continued growth.
This is a hybrid role with three days per week in person. Candidates based near our Durham, NC headquarters are preferred, but we're open to candidates in other locations who can meet the in-person and travel expectations of the role. Travel is required to attend approximately 4–6 recruiting events per year, and overnight travel is expected.
You're a relationship builder. You connect easily with people, engage candidates, and build trust with hiring managers.
You're proactive and resourceful. You know how to find great candidates, build pipelines, and adjust your approach when a search gets challenging.
You're organized and follow through. You can manage multiple openings and deadlines while keeping candidates and hiring managers informed.
You care about the candidate experience. You communicate promptly, treat people with respect, and understand that every interaction shapes how candidates view Truss Vet.
You're comfortable with data and recruiting tools. You use an ATS and recruiting metrics to stay organized, track progress, and improve results.
You thrive in a growing organization. You're adaptable, take ownership of your work, and enjoy improving processes as the business evolves.
You are tied to Truss Vet’s mission. You believe in Truss Vet's mission to transform veterinary urgent care and want to help build the teams that make that mission possible.
Experience recruiting in veterinary medicine or healthcare is preferred.
