Zekelman’s Talent Acquisition Specialist in Chicago leads full-cycle recruiting for hourly and professional roles, focusing on fast-paced manufacturing environments.

You will partner with hiring managers, source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, ensure policy compliance, and drive onboarding for new hires across U.S. and Canada.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of recruiting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience recruiting both hourly operations and professional-level positions.
• Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
• Strong knowledge of recruitment strategies, talent acquisition processes, and employment laws.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions across multiple locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and deliver exceptional recruiting support.
• Source, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates using a variety of recruiting channels.
• Coordinate interview processes, including second and third-round interviews with management and executive leadership.
• Ensure recruiting and selection processes are compliant with established talent acquisition policies and procedures.
• Create and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified talent for manufacturing and professional positions.
• Draft, review, and manage job postings and recruitment advertising.
• Conduct reference checks, background checks, and coordinate pre-employment activities.
• Leverage social media and networking platforms to attract passive and active candidates.
• Support diversity, military, and community outreach recruiting initiatives through job fairs and networking events.
• Coach HR and operational leaders on recruiting best practices, hiring trends, and selection tools.
• Track recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill and cost-to-fill, and provide regular reporting.
• Partner with local HR teams to support onboarding and new hire integration.
• Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and hiring outcomes.
