You will partner with hiring managers, screen and interview candidates, coordinate offers, and ensure onboarding while maintaining compliance with employment laws.

Qualifications

Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist Sr
Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist Sr leads full life cycle recruiting for corporate and exempt roles, with a strong focus on technical and non-technical professional positions such as engineers and project managers. This position manages both exempt and nonexempt openings, including professional and management-level roles, and operates with a high degree of independence and minimal guidance. The role also serves as a resource and mentor to less experienced talent acquisition team members and contributes to continuous improvement of recruiting processes. Experience in the utilities and energy sector is highly preferred but not required, and the role does not focus on information technology recruiting.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies for assigned territories.
  • Manage the full life cycle recruiting process for corporate, exempt, nonexempt, professional, and management-level positions, including technical and non-technical roles.
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews, and administer appropriate assessments to evaluate candidate qualifications and fit.
  • Perform reference and background checks and make clear recommendations regarding hire or no-hire decisions.
  • Deliver employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt positions, clearly communicating key employment information such as benefits, compensation, and any applicable agreements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for recruiting within assigned territories, providing guidance and support to hiring managers and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Sourcing Specialists to ensure a diverse slate of qualified candidates is presented to hiring managers.
  • Manage the internal transfer process, including candidate screening, coordination of interviews with hiring managers, and preparation and delivery of transfer offer letters.
  • Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to gather feedback and continuously improve the recruiting experience and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients to support the achievement of staffing goals.
  • Ensure onboarding and new hire orientation processes are completed accurately and on time for new hires.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan requirements.
  • Manage current candidate activity and requisitions in the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring accurate and timely data entry and documentation.
  • Maintain application and resume files in accordance with company policies and retention requirements.
  • Identify, suggest, and help implement ongoing process improvements to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of the recruiting process.
  • Leverage electronic applicant systems and internet recruiting sources to attract and engage qualified candidates.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in full life cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer management.
  • Minimum of five years of corporate experience in recruitment and placement of applicants in professional and management-level exempt positions.
  • At least three years of experience working with electronic applicant tracking systems and internet recruiting sources.
  • Demonstrated technical recruiting experience, particularly for engineering and project management roles.
  • Hands-on experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), including managing requisitions, candidate pipelines, and documentation.
  • Strong talent acquisition and recruitment skills, including the ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience managing both exempt and nonexempt hiring processes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to clearly present opportunities, provide feedback, and deliver employment offers.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with hiring managers, HR partners, and candidates.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including affirmative action compliance.
  • Bachelors degree in human resource management or a related field preferred, or equivalent years of related experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience recruiting within the utilities and energy sector is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting business segments such as nuclear development and new generation is beneficial.
  • Ability to serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced talent acquisition professionals.

  • Eligibility to receive holiday pay while on assignment through the staffing provider, in accordance with their policies.
Work Environment

This is an onsite position with standard business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training will be conducted remotely during the first month, beginning the week of November 17, after which the role transitions to an on-premise work setting. The position operates in a professional corporate environment, using electronic applicant tracking systems and internet-based recruiting tools as core technologies. The work involves regular collaboration with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, and sourcing specialists, as well as frequent interaction with candidates via phone, video, and in-person meetings. The environment emphasizes compliance, accuracy, and professionalism while offering a long-term assignment with the potential for conversion, along with access to holiday pay benefits while on assignment through the staffing provider.

This is a Contract position based out of Canton, OH.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
