Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead hourly recruitment for East Lime and Minerals divisions and support salaried recruitment. You will identify and attract candidates, enhance company branding, and manage the candidate experience through onboarding and social media initiatives.

Day-to-day duties include offer letters, pre-hire screens, orientation support, updating job descriptions, scheduling interviews, and partnering with hiring managers and HR teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree recommended; Associate degree required in HR/Business/Marketing or equivalent.
  • Experience in talent acquisition across manufacturing/mining environments is desirable.
  • Strong sourcing and candidate experience with HR processes (onboarding, background checks).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement hourly candidate sourcing strategies for East Lime and Minerals divisions.
  • Manage the hourly recruitment process and partner with managers to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinate onboarding, pre-hire screens, orientation, and offer letters; maintain HRIS data in Workday.

Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition (T.A.) Specialist is responsible for hourly recruitment sourcing in the East Lime and Minerals divisions, while also providing recruiting process support for the T.A. team on salaried recruitment. Key duties include candidate identification and attraction, company branding, candidate experience, onboarding, and social media initiatives.

Day-to-day responsibilities include development of offer letters, initiation and review of pre-hire screens and assessments, support of new hire orientation, assistance with updating job position descriptions, scheduling candidate screenings and participating in interviews, providing recurring updates to hiring managers, HRBPs, and stakeholders, communicating and processing candidate dispositions, and other HR tasks as needed (e.g., employee benefits, employee engagement).

Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Develop and implement strategies to research, source, recruit, and retain diverse hourly candidates that will directly contribute to the Company\'s growth and business goals.
  • Manage the hourly recruitment process of East Lime and Minerals Divisions.
  • Partner with managers to meet staffing needs by introducing top talents to the company and becoming a trusted recruitment partner by understanding hiring needs, identifying trends, and making recommendations.
  • Nurture relationships with managers and prospective talents, providing an excellent experience to both.
  • Work collaboratively with the Recruitment team and HR Teams.
  • Perform general recruitment tasks (data entry in Workday, posting jobs, launching assessments, sending candidates required site safety forms, scheduling candidate travel, assisting with candidate onsite interview agendas, setting up video/phone/onsite interviews, developing offer letters, and assisting with onboarding/offboarding activities such as pre-employment testing and background checks, and training).
  • Assist and track updates of RREs (job descriptions) for hourly positions across East Lime & Minerals Divisions.
  • Lead all new hire orientations for employees, assist hiring managers with onboarding processes, and update records of new staff and organizational announcements.
  • Work closely with Recruiters, other TA Specialists, and HR Leaders.
  • Follow up with search firms, consultants, vendors, colleges/universities, and others to access diverse candidates and opportunities to support diversity goals.
  • Maintain and grow networking relationships in the mining industry, local communities, schools, colleges/universities, professional organizations, and trade schools to introduce potential candidates to the Company.
  • Maintain accurate data in the HRIS Workday system for employees and new hires, including photos in personnel profiles.
  • Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees\' and applicants\' records.
  • Assist with managing data and analytics related to recruitment and retention efforts within the assigned division.
  • Participate in planning, coordinating, and executing other HR activities as directed, such as employee engagement, benefits open enrollment, MVR process, and employee communication.
  • Promote safety awareness and compliance across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Willingness to work in the office and remotely as needed.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous Workday recruitment knowledge is a plus.
  • Solid social media tool utilization (LinkedIn, metaverse, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) is highly desired.

  • Working in both office and mining environments, which may include exposure to temperature extremes, noise, uneven surfaces, vibration, oils, and dust/fumes/metallic particles.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of background check and/or drug screening (if applicable).
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as required by business needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed and/or directed by leadership.
Required Education
  • Associate degree in HR, Communication, Business, and/or Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and working experience in the HR field.
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree is a plus.
  • SPHR/PHR certification is a plus.
  • Proficient Spanish language both speaking and writing skills is a plus.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of demonstrated talent acquisition experience across all levels and diversity experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/mining environment; experience in recruitment and relocation coordination is highly desired.
Preferred Experience
  • Good understanding of HR functional areas such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, relocation, DEI, and community engagement is a plus.
