Overview
The Craft - Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for working within the HR team to understand hiring needs and pursue qualified individuals for open Craft roles. This position is an individual contributor reporting to the HR Lead and Partners closely with Operations, Project Management, and Field Leadership to ensure staffing needs are met efficiently while maintaining compliance with company standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create and post job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.
- Source, recruit, screen, and hire skilled craft personnel for industrial storage tank and related construction project
- Verify craft qualifications, certifications, licenses, and work history
- Partner with Operations Managers and Project Teams to forecast manpower requirements.
- Develop recruiting strategies to address labor shortages and high-demand craft positions.
- Ensure candidates meet project and client-specific requirements.
- Verify candidate certifications
- Extend employment offers, Coordinates start dates, ensure new hires complete required paperwork and orientation requirements
- Ensure compliance with company employment policies and applicable employment laws.
- Assist with maintaining Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and coordination within the HR team during the onboarding process
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department and TA functional performance
- Human Resource knowledge to support best hiring practices such as EEOC and FLSA.
- Support broader HR initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience recruiting for Craft/Skilled labor
- Typically, 3+ years of relevant HR experience
- 2+ years in a Talent Acquisition role
- BS in Business (HR Management) or equivalent certification/experience preferred
- Experience and knowledge of the Engineering & Construction industry
- Strong knowledge of Labor and Employment Laws for area of remit

- Reports to: HR Lead
- Permanent work location: Plainfield, IL
- May be temporarily assigned to Project Sites
