Job description

Position Summary

As Talent Acquisition Lead for our North Texas Divisions (North Texas), you will build a recruiting engine aligned with Southland's enterprise Talent Acquisition strategy. You will directly manage a team of Recruiters who own and are accountable for a defined set of requisitions; your leadership, training, and growth of that team is essential, and you will be measured on its performance and delivery. As the face of Talent Acquisition for these divisions, you will work closely and transparently with senior division leaders - leading workforce planning, sharing hiring metrics and plans, and keeping recruiting strategy aligned to the direction of the business so you can adjust it proactively as hiring volume shifts throughout the year. In partnership with our centralized sourcing team, you will lead the Recruiters to grow the volume of qualified candidates and increase hiring velocity, while upholding our People First commitment to an exceptional candidate and employee experience. This role is based out of our Carrollton office, where consistent in-office time in all North TX divisions is critical to building the strong relationships the role depends on.

Position Details
  • Set clear goals for each Recruiter, balance requisition assignments, and hold the team accountable for filling their requisitions while delivering operational excellence, strong business partnership, and excellent candidate experience.
  • Run regular one-on-ones, coaching, and performance reviews against hiring goals and service-level expectations. Build recruiter skills through hands-on training, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Operate as a player-coach - carrying a small load of the divisions' most critical requisitions and stepping in during hiring surges to ease capacity challenges.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior division leaders, meet regularly to review hiring performance and plans, stay aligned to the direction of the business, and reprioritize recruiting strategy ahead of changing needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the recruiting process and requisition roadmap so delivery scales with demand.
  • Lead the team to partner with centralized sourcing, using targeted techniques to reach specialized technical talent and keep pipelines healthy. Ensure the team strengthens Southland's reputation as an employer of choice and delivers strong candidate experience.
  • Remove process bottlenecks and leverage our TA tech stack (CRM, ATS, etc.) to streamline workflows and reduce time-to-fill without sacrificing quality.
  • Track and analyze hiring metrics to improve efficiency and evaluate outcomes.
  • Partner with division HRBPs and the broader HR team - including Compensation and Onboarding - on talent initiatives, workforce needs, and seamless candidate-to-employee experience.
  • Build partnerships across division leadership, hiring managers, Marketing, Legal, and other corporate teams to support recruiting and earn trust across the business.
  • Create and share standards and best practices with peer TA Leads and contribute to the evolution of the Central Region TA strategy.
  • Develop deep understanding of the business drivers across our lines of business and maintain a strong talent network for current and future needs.
  • Expected travel: 30%
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of hands-on experience in full-cycle recruitment and workforce planning, specializing in professional to executive-level talent acquisition.
  • Preferred: 5 years of recruiting within the engineering, construction, or building technology sectors.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience - directly managing, coaching, training, and developing a team of recruiters or comparable professionals, with clear accountability for the team’s performance and delivery.
  • Strong relationship and client-management skills, adept at managing expectations in a fast- paced environment.
  • Able to communicate and align with hiring managers and compellingly present opportunities to candidates.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hiring best practices, able to educate and motivate hiring managers and HR teams at all levels.
  • Expertise in robust sourcing methods, performance-based interviewing, and securing top talent.
  • Proficiency in building networks through industry events and social media.
  • Analytical acumen to translate data into informed business decisions.
  • Track record of optimizing ROI on hiring while managing costs.
  • Able to operate at both tactical and strategic levels, identifying cross-organizational patterns to inform recruiting strategy.
  • Proven ability to influence both direct and indirect stakeholders across the business.
