Southland Industries is seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner to lead end-to-end recruiting for a California-based business unit. You will identify, source, and engage top construction talent, collaborating with TA leadership and hiring managers in a remote work setup with occasional travel.

This role emphasizes building relationships, proactive candidate engagement, and strategic recruiting plans, with a focus on Workday processes, diverse pipelines, and timely updates throughout the interview

Qualifications

• 5+ years recruiting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven construction recruiting experience.
• Ability to sell opportunities to candidates and partner with hiring managers.
• Knowledge of recruitment tools and techniques, including passive recruiting and Boolean searching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter who drives improvements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with hiring managers and TA leadership to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies.
• Source candidates through job boards, social media, passive search, internal communities, and referrals.
• Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews to assess qualifications and fit.
• Coordinate interviews with TA Coordinators, Hiring Managers, and Candidates.

• Forecast talent needs and help deploy strategic recruiting plans.

The Talent Acquisition Partner would ideally be based in the Pacific Time Zone since the stakeholder group supported is our Northern and Southern California Divisions. This would be a work-from-home position with occasional travel to our Corporate CA offices, an annual talent acquisition strategy session, and various company events.

Position Details

• Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition leadership to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
• Source candidates through a variety of channels, including job boards, social media, passive search, internal talent communities, and employee referrals.
• Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit for open positions.
• Work with TA Coordinators, Hiring Managers, and Candidates for interview scheduling.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (Workday).
• Live the ‘People-First’ Southland brand by delivering a world-class candidate experience — communicating proactively throughout the recruitment process and providing timely updates and feedback.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition leadership to understand the current state of the business and forecasted talent needs, helping develop and deploy strategic recruiting plans.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in recruiting to continuously improve recruitment processes and strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recruiting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience as a recruiter within the construction industry required.
• Ability to “talk the same language” and partner with hiring managers to understand needs, using that insight to effectively sell opportunities to candidates.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment tools and techniques, including passive recruiting, Boolean searching, and cold calling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter who takes initiative to identify improvements — we're always looking for ways to be better, faster, stronger.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (Workday preferred) and candidate sourcing platforms.

Pay

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California this ranges from $116,718.00 - $142,656.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
