Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Talent Acquisition Manager leads CertaSite's talent acquisition strategy and recruiting function, ensuring the organization has the talent and pipelines needed to support continued organic growth, new markets, and acquisitions. This role moves beyond managing requisitions to serve as a strategic talent advisor to leaders - translating business and workforce plans into proactive recruiting strategies, building scalable talent pipelines, strengthening hiring practices, and using data to improve recruiting effectiveness.

The Talent Acquisition Manager leads and develops the recruiting team, establishes priorities and service expectations, and partners closely with business leaders, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Marketing, and APi resources. The role is accountable for both recruiting results and the continued evolution of CertaSite's talent acquisition capabilities, with particular emphasis on field and technician talent critical to the company's growth.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Talent Acquisition Strategy & Workforce Planning
  • Partner with senior leaders, branch and functional leaders, and HR to understand business plans, growth priorities, workforce risks, and current and future hiring needs.
  • Develop and execute an enterprise talent acquisition strategy aligned with CertaSite’s growth strategy – i.e., organic expansion, new markets, and acquisitions.
  • Build proactive talent programs and pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles, particularly field technicians and other positions essential to business growth and customer service.
  • Use labor-market intelligence, workforce trends, turnover data, and recruiting analytics to anticipate talent needs and recommend sourcing, staffing, and hiring strategies.
  • Advise leaders on job requirements, talent availability, compensation considerations, hiring priorities, and realistic recruiting timelines.
Recruiting Team Leadership & Execution
  • Lead, coach, develop, and set priorities for the talent acquisition team, creating clear accountability for recruiting outcomes and candidate experience.
  • Allocate recruiting resources based on business priorities, hiring volume, market conditions, and critical talent needs.
  • Establish consistent recruiting practices, service standards, and operating rhythms across CertaSite locations while allowing appropriate flexibility for local markets.
  • Provide hands‑on recruiting leadership for critical, senior‑level, or difficult‑to‑fill searches as needed.
  • Build strong partnerships with hiring managers and improve manager capability and accountability throughout the selection process.
Talent Pipelines, Sourcing & Employment Brand
  • Develop scalable sourcing strategies and long‑term pipelines through schools, apprenticeship programs, industry associations, referral networks, community partnerships, digital channels, and other sources.
  • Partner with Marketing and business leaders to strengthen CertaSite’s employment brand and clearly communicate career opportunities, including technician career pathways and development opportunities.
  • Evaluate and optimize external recruiting partners, job boards, sourcing tools, events, and other recruiting investments based on quality, cost, and results.
  • Ensure recruiting strategies reach broad, qualified talent pools and support fair, consistent hiring practices.
Selection, Candidate Experience & Hiring Practices
  • Create a consistent, efficient, and professional candidate experience from initial contact through accepted offer and transition to onboarding.
  • Strengthen selection practices, including job profiles, interview processes, assessment methods, decision criteria, and hiring‑manager tools.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders on compensation recommendations, offer strategy, and closing key candidates.
  • Ensure recruiting and selection practices are compliant, appropriately documented, and consistently applied.
Metrics, Technology & Continuous Improvement
  • Own talent acquisition metrics and dashboards, including time to fill, quality and source of hire, pipeline health, offer acceptance, recruiting activity, and other measures that inform business decisions.
  • Use data and feedback to identify recruiting bottlenecks, market challenges, and opportunities to improve speed, quality, candidate experience, and cost effectiveness.
  • Optimize the applicant tracking system and recruiting technology to support accurate data, efficient workflows, reporting, and a strong user experience.
  • Partner with APi and other operating companies to leverage enterprise recruiting resources, tools, programs, practices, and talent networks rather than recreating capabilities locally.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve CertaSite talent acquisition practices as the company grows and evolves.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive talent acquisition or recruiting experience, including 3+ years’ experience leading recruiters or a talent acquisition function.
  • Demonstrated success developing recruiting strategies and talent pipelines in a high-growth, multi-location organization.
  • Experience recruiting across multiple organizational levels, including high-volume/hourly or skilled‑trade roles and professional or leadership positions.
  • Experience in a field-based, service, construction, industrial, skilled-trades, or similarly operational environment strongly preferred; fire protection or life safety experience is a plus.
  • Experience supporting organizational growth, new‑market expansion, acquisitions, or other significant workforce change preferred.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, recruiting analytics, sourcing technology, and contemporary recruiting channels and practices.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or talent acquisition certification is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Controlled climate, office environment
  • Local travel as needed; no overnight travel required
  • Visit customer locations and may have meetings in field settings
  • Required to sit for long periods of time, eight hours or more per day and being frequently required to use monitor, keyboard, and phone
COMPANY PERKS
  • Work at a mission-driven company, focused on people
  • Comprehensive medical plan options, including dental and vision
  • 401K plan with company match
  • Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and paid parental leave
  • Education reimbursement program
  • Continued growth and expansion into new markets and products and services
