Job summary

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation in Chicago is seeking a Talent Acquisition Associate within People and Culture.

The role leads the full lifecycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt staff and supports confidential HR processes in a dynamic not-for-profit setting. You will attract diverse candidates, coordinate interviews, manage onboarding, and partner with Diversity Outreach Partners and internship programs to build talent.

Qualifications

• Experience and expertise in recruiting for not-for-profit organizations.
• Able to work effectively with all levels of the organization and in a diverse work group.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with proven written communication skills.
• A self-starter, with proven problem-solving skills, able to work on multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• HRIS experience; working knowledge of Workday is a plus.
• Must maintain discretion and confidentiality.
• A strong drive for results and success, conveys a sense of urgency, and ensures that solutions have been reached.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full life cycle recruitment process: sourcing, screening qualifying candidates, coordinating and managing interviews, maintaining consistent communication with candidates and hiring managers, and provide relevant reporting on all searches (open/filled positions, demographics, etc.).
• Coordinate outside temporary personnel requests that are not assigned to the Floaters.
• Manage the Foundation’s Summer Internship Program, from the search process to day-to-day management and assessment, working with Diversity Partners.
• Prepare, update and maintain job descriptions.
• Handle reference checks.
• Manage onboarding and conduct new hire orientation for all employees (regular and temporary).
• Answer questions and provide HR-related information to employees/management.
• Assist with coordinating special events for People and Culture and the Foundation.
• Create ad hoc reports as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
