Job summary

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. is seeking a Takeoff Technician to join our estimating team in Florida (Tampa or Jacksonville/St. Augustine). This role supports senior estimators on heavy civil and roadway projects.

You will perform quantity takeoffs, data entry, plan reviews, and organize estimating materials to help deliver accurate cost estimates, with opportunities to grow in civil construction.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of construction or civil engineering experience preferred.
• Ability to read civil plans and perform basic takeoffs.
• Experience with takeoff or design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings and project documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and road items.
• Organize bid documents and maintain project files.
• Input data into estimating software (HCSS, Agtek, Bluebeam).
• Coordinate with estimators on quantities and material needs.
• Assist in gathering supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Maintain standardized takeoff templates and historical data.
• Learn estimating principles under senior estimators.
