Job summary

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. seeks a Takeoff Technician to support the estimating team in Tampa or Jacksonville/St. Augustine, FL. You will perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and roadway items and help prepare proposal materials.

You should have 1–3 years in construction or civil engineering, basic plan-reading skills, and experience with takeoff or design software such as Agtek, Bluebeam, AutoCAD or HCSS. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in construction or civil engineering; internship accepted.
• Ability to read civil construction plans and perform basic measurements.
• Experience with takeoff or design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret drawings, specs, and documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and roadway items.
• Assist in organizing bid documents and project files.
• Input data into estimating and takeoff software (HCSS, Agtek, Bluebeam).
• Coordinate with estimators to verify quantities, material requirements, and inputs.
• Support the gathering and organization of supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Help maintain standardized takeoff templates and historical quantity databases.
• Learn and apply estimating principles under the guidance of senior estimators.
