Job summary

Brobston Group is seeking a skilled tailor to perform alterations, resizing, and restyling on merchandise sold in the store. You will support fitters by assessing garment fit, alterability, and structural quality to ensure high standards.

Based in Hackensack, NJ, this on-site role requires experience in tailoring or industrial sewing, comfort with diverse fabrics, and basic arithmetic for measurements. Strong reading skills in English to follow instructions are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment.
• Exposure to a variety of garment styles and fabric types.
• Ability to read English, understand instructions, and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Alter garments to meet or exceed original construction quality standards.
• Perform garment alterations such as adjusting seams, shoulders, sleeves, collars, coats, linings, and pockets.
• Operate and maintain sewing equipment and inspect completed work for quality.
• Complete assigned alterations and follow instructions from supervisors and managers.
