Job summary

The Arc of San Diego is seeking a Tailored Day Professional to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and participate in their community.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and social activities, with a pay range of $20.00 to $20.65 per hour. Location is in Nourth County, with variable schedules and a focus on compassionate, person-centered support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related experience and/or training with persons with developmental disabilities or similar.
• CA Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with mobility.
• Comfort using basic technology for documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in developing life skills, including meal preparation, budgeting, and transportation.
• Assist with personal care needs such as hygiene, grooming, and mobility.
• Encourage community engagement by accompanying clients to social, recreational, and volunteer activities.
• Monitor and report on clients' progress, ensuring they receive person-centered support.
• Provide emotional support and promote a safe, inclusive environment.

About the Role

Your role will focus on assisting clients with daily living skills, personal care, and participation in social and recreational activities.

Bonus Points If You:

• Speak multiple languages (English, Spanish, or Tagalog preferred).
• Have experience with electronic case management systems (Therap preferred).
