Job summary

Four Seasons Maui is seeking a part-time Tailor in the Rooms Division to maintain and tailor employee uniforms, measure new staff, and ensure perfect fits. The role includes repairing textiles and assisting guests with sewing needs, contributing to a polished guest experience.

Experience in hotels and handling sewing equipment is preferred. This position supports a luxury brand in a Maui oceanfront setting and requires English proficiency and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Experience with sewing equipment and textiles.
• Some knowledge of upholstery and embroidery machine.
• Ability to alter and repair garments, pillows, couch covers and replace zippers.
• Detail-oriented work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Keeps inventory of employee uniform pieces and ensures par levels; measures and tailors uniforms for new staff; adjusts fits as needed.
• Inspects and repairs bedspreads, drapes, linens and textiles; creates sewn pieces for hotel operations.
• Assists guests with their sewing/tailoring needs.

Tailor

Assures that the look and fit of Employee Uniforms meet exacting standards. Repairs. textiles throughout the hotel as needed. This role is part of the Rooms Division, reporting to the Housekeeping Management Team. Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the United States at the time of application.

What You Will Do

• Keeps appropriate inventory of Employee Uniform pieces assuring the par levels are met. Measures new employees for uniforms. Tailors uniform to employee’s measurements. Fits uniform to employee after tailoring and makes necessary adjustments for a perfect fit. Repairs deficiencies in uniforms. Makes needed alterations to uniforms on an on-going basis.
• Inspects and repairs bedspreads, drapes, linens, and other textiles used in the hotel. Creates sewn pieces for use in operating departments.
• Assists guests with their sewing/tailoring needs.

What You Will Bring

• Previous hotel experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Experience with tapa measures, sewing machines, serger machine, blind stitch hemmer and iron.
• Some knowledge of upholstery and use of embroidery machine
• Ability to alter and repair garments, pillows, couch covers and replace zippers
• Detail-Oriented
