Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. in San Marcos, CA is seeking a Tailor/Fitter who delivers exceptional service through skilled alteration work, measuring customers for size and fitting garments to achieve the best possible fit.

You will complete fittings on time, work with the Alterations & Store Team, use store technology, and educate customers on fit, style, and construction, with 2–3 years of tailoring experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of fitting, tailoring, and sewing experience.
• Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers.
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and safely operate sewing/pressing machinery and alterations equipment.
• Flexible schedule based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Measure customers for size, fit garments on customers, and mark areas requiring alterations.
• Perform and complete customer fittings on time, and sewing alterations, according to Nordstrom guidelines and service standards.
• Meet department and individual productivity goals while following proper processes and procedures.
• Utilize store technology to manage and organize customer alteration needs.
• Deliver customer expectations through teamwork and collaboration within the Alterations & Store Team.
• Educate customers, and employees on proper fit, style, construction, and trend in a professional and friendly manner.
