Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Systems Architect to lead efforts modernizing tactical networks and sustaining CANES/ADNS-like systems. You will design, develop, and support DOD network solutions in a DevOps and agile environment, with hybrid/remote options and periodic onsite work in VA Beach or San Diego.

The role requires DoD security clearance eligibility, extensive DevOps experience, and a background in Linux/.NET development, scripting, and network systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelors and 14+ years experience or Masters and 12+ years experience.
• Familiar with DoD C4ISR enterprise IT environments and related networks.
• Experience in DevOps environments and Agile practices.
• Scripting in PowerShell and XML development.
• Knowledge of Navy ship/shore networking systems is a plus.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Provide system lifecycle software engineering support for NAVWAR and NIWC customers.
• Focus on software components loaded on tactical networks to sustain TACNET systems.
• Analyze failure data and trouble reports to identify current deficiencies.
• Propose solutions, conduct peer reviews, and implement changes with production engineers.
• Create and update engineering documentation and manage changes through CM processes.
• Attend technical meetings, report progress, and prepare briefs for reviews.
• Lead IPT/Technical Working Group and design reviews as needed.
• Develop for Red Hat/Linux operating systems and apply security patterns.
• Provide root cause analysis and recommend permanent configuration changes when warranted.
• Develop, integrate, test, and tune complex software solutions per customer requirements.
