Position Description

The Tactical Application Senior Software (TASS) is a government-owned, managed, and developed suite of software used by the Joint Services and numerous labs to support development and testing of defense systems for the United States and Allies. The TASS team has expertise in Command and Control, Fires, Maneuvers, Tactical Data Links (TDL), Test, Enterprise IT, Software, Systems Engineering, and Information Assurance.

This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Your future duties and responsibilities include:

1. Executing all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression).
2. Detecting and tracking software defects and inconsistencies.
3. Analyzing user stories and use case requirements for validity and feasibility.
4. Designing and developing automation scripts as needed.
5. Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios.
6. Executing tests on software usability.
7. Analyzing test results related to database impacts, errors, bugs, and usability.
8. Preparing reports on all aspects of software testing and reporting to the design team.
9. Interacting with clients to understand product requirements.
10. Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, product design, and potential problems.

Required qualifications include:

• US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance or ability to acquire one.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3-8 years of experience in software testing, including automated and manual testing.
• Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience with code repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desired skills include experience with highly networked applications and knowledge of tactical and simulation data links (Link 16, JREAP, DIS, VMF, CMF, XML).
