Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking motivated students pursuing degrees in CS, ML, AI, physics, or related fields to join our team. You will tackle complex research and engineering challenges, applying AI, ML operations, data science, and systems engineering to support defense and health-care sponsors.

You will work with a collaborative team on projects like Machine Perception, Intelligent Systems, and Data Science, with opportunities to contribute to software engineering

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS, ML, AI, Physics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Knowledge of Python or C/C++, data analysis/visualization, database management, or AI/ML techniques.
• Must be able to obtain Interim Secret clearance by start date and ultimately a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Nice-to-have: Git/Jira/Docker, UNIX/Linux CLI, building/training DL models (PyTorch/TensorFlow), computer vision, health data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dedicated team to develop and deliver AI/ML solutions addressing national priorities.
• Work within a team across projects in areas like Machine Perception, Intelligent Systems, Autonomy, Software Engineering, ML Ops, AI Assurance, and Data Science.
