The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army's mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations. Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.

Job Summary

The Packer is responsible for preparing, packing, and labeling materials, parts, and equipment for storage or shipment in support of TACOM maintenance and logistics operations. The selected individual will verify parts, quantities, and documentation against packing lists and work orders. This role ensures items are packaged securely, documented accurately, and handled in accordance with shipping requirements, safety standards, and government property procedures. This position is contingent upon award.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepares finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers, the specific operations performed being dependent upon the type, size, and number of units to be packed, the type of container employed, and method of shipment.
  • Placing of items in shipping containers, and may involve one or more of the following: knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content, selection of appropriate type and size of container, inserting enclosures in container; using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage, closing and sealing container, and applying labels or entering identifying data on container.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting DoD, Army, or TACOM programs.
  • Prior government contracting experience.

The salary range for this position is $49,700 - $74,600. Compensation offered will depend on qualifications, experience, work location, and business considerations. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. Additional compensation and benefits may be available based on role eligibility.

Additional Information

This position will be a part of a physical work environment that requires standing, walking, and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts, overtime, or weekend support based on mission needs.
