Job summary

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Support Specialist to provide network and infrastructure support for Hanscom AFB. This full-time role requires hands-on work with TACLANES, Cisco/Juniper routers and switches, and DoD compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in network support, a Security+ CE certification, and strong skills in DHCP, IPAM, VoIP, and network monitoring tools like Orion and Wireshark. This position is on-site at Hanscom AFB, MA, and may require after-hours work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a network support role.
• Associate's degree in a related field; additional work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Must be Security+ CE certified.
• Extensive TACLANES experience and training.
• Hands-on configuration/installation of Cisco/Juniper routers/switches.
• Strong knowledge of DHCP, NMS Orion, Cisco ISE, and Wireshark.
• Experience with Layer 2/3 protocols in VoIP environments.
• Familiarity with IP address management, DHCP, Radius, Syslog, DNS.
• Windows Server 2016/2019 knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work after hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a converged Gigabit Ethernet network infrastructure for Hanscom AFB.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and devices.
• Support ongoing upgrade projects and operational tasks for routers, switches, and IPAM.
• Update topology maps and maintain documentation for classified and unclassified networks.
• Assist in meeting DoD/AF/DISA compliance requirements for network systems.
• Participate in maintenance and optimization of enterprise infrastructure across networks.
• Interface with vendors for hardware/software upgrades and warranties.
• Diagnose data issues, open trouble tickets, and ensure timely resolutions with Tier 3 support.
