Job summary

DeGeest Corporation is hiring for a Tack Welder in Sioux Falls, SD. Work hours are 7:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The tack welder will ensure strong tack welds, precision and quality in welding processes, and collaborate with the team to uphold DeGeest's standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and manufacturing experience. On-the-job training is provided, and benefits such as medical, retirement, and paid holidays are offered.

Location: Sioux Falls, SD (right off I-29)
Work Hours: 7:00am until 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

Position Summary:
The Tack Welder will ensure tack welds are made strong enough to sustain the stressors affecting them, while ensuring precision and quality in the welding process.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to read, interpret and adhere to documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Perform tack welding operations on metal components according to provided blueprints and work instructions.
• Inspect workpieces to verify conformity with quality standards and specifications.
• Monitor the welding process to ensure consistent quality and make adjustments to maintain optimal weld integrity.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of welding equipment, tools, and materials.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is desired.
• On the job training provided.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
