Job summary

Buyers Edge Platform seeks a Tableau Data Architect to design scalable, governed Tableau data models powering enterprise analytics. You will collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to ensure a trusted, high-performing Tableau Cloud environment across reporting at scale.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in BI/data architecture with at least 3 years focused on Tableau.
• Expert-level proficiency in Tableau Cloud—site admin, performance tuning, governance, and LOD expressions.
• Deep experience with Tableau governance: Tableau Catalog, certified data sources, Virtual Connections, security.
• Proficiency with Tableau REST API for governance automation and Metadata API for lineage/catalog queries.
• Advanced SQL skills (Amazon Redshift preferred).
• Strong data modeling skills (star/snowflake schema, semantic layer).
• Experience integrating Tableau with large-scale data ecosystems (ETL pipelines, APIs, cloud storage).
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and security principles.
• Familiarity with Platform Data API for activity monitoring/audit logs.
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and proactive progress updates with timelines/solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise data governance in Tableau Cloud, including data source certification workflows and content promotion policies.
• Implement and manage row-level, object-level, and Virtual Connection-level security to control data access.
• Build audit trails and governance dashboards using the Platform Data API for observability.
• Lead semantic data model design to support Tableau Next AI features, ensuring trusted, AI-ready metrics.
• Define and certify metrics; deprecate official metrics as needed across the org.
• Guide standards for AI-generated content to align with trusted data policies.
• Develop optimized semantic layers and certified data sources for dashboards and analytics.
• Design and manage Virtual Connections and published data sources to centralize data access.
• Triage performance issues and optimize SQL, indexing, and extract strategies; integrate with upstream systems.
