Job summary

Halvik Corp is seeking BI Developers to support a high-visibility federal data modernization program at the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The role focuses on converting thousands of legacy reports from Oracle/OBIEE into Tableau dashboards connected to a Databricks Lakehouse, working in a hands-on, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate brings foundational Tableau development, solid SQL, and comfort with AI-assisted tooling, plus the discipline to follow established templates and QA

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years Tableau development experience with dashboards, calculated fields, filters, and data source connections.
• Solid SQL skills with ability to run validation queries on large datasets.
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts including dimensional models, fact/dimension tables, data marts, ETL concepts.
• Exposure to Databricks, Spark SQL, or similar cloud data platforms; willingness to learn.
• Comfort using AI/LLM tools for code generation, data analysis, or automation.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Public Trust security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute the established report conversion process, refining pre-generated Tableau scaffolds or performing manual conversion.
• Build, modify, and publish Tableau workbooks, dashboards, calculated fields, filters, and parameters per templates.
• Apply performance best practices (context filters, extract optimization, data source filters) under guidance.
• Validate converted report outputs and verify source-to-target fidelity; troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Navigate Databricks workspace to locate tables and review schemas for data sources.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and coordinate with QA, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Project Manager.
