Job summary

Halvik Corp is seeking a Data Architect with significant BI experience to lead a large-scale migration from Oracle Data Warehouse/OBIEE to a Databricks platform with Tableau reporting. You will design gold-layer data models for Tableau, define the Tableau data source layer, and oversee automated and manual conversion processes.

The role requires deep data modeling expertise and hands-on BI tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, including designing dimensional models for analytical and reporting environments.
• At least 5 years of that experience must include hands-on work with BI tools and reporting platforms, designing data structures to serve BI consumption (Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE or comparable tools).
• Hands-on proficiency with Databricks. Must be able to write Spark SQL, and design medallion-layer architectures.
• Expert-level SQL skills.
• Ability to design repeatable processes, standards, and architectural patterns that enable a team to execute consistently at scale.
• Effective at communicating architectural decisions and trade-offs to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Effective at working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Databricks gold-layer data models that serve as the foundation for all Tableau data sources and reports.
• Architect the Tableau data source (TDS) layer, defining how gold-layer tables are surfaced as published data sources.
• Own the repeatable report conversion process - AI-assisted and manual paths with quality gates.
• Resolve the structural differences between OBIEE and Tableau architectures.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on ETL pipeline design and governance considerations.
• Design validation frameworks and automated reconciliation pipelines.
• Maintain and improve the AI/LLM-assisted conversion pipeline.
• Analyze OBIEE RPD metadata to map data lineage and inform migration sequencing.
• Provide technical mentorship to Junior BI Developers.
• Contribute to migration playbooks, architecture docs, and agile ceremonies.
