Job summary

Altum Consulting in Houston is seeking a hands-on Travel & Expense professional to join the finance team on an initial six-month contract. You will support day-to-day administration and review of employee expenses and corporate card transactions, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.

The role requires 1–3 years in T&E, Accounts Payable or Finance Operations, strong attention to detail, proficiency with Excel and finance systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks to help close the month

Qualifications

• 1-3 years' experience in Travel & Expense, Accounts Payable or Finance Operations.
• Experience processing expense claims and/or corporate card transactions.
• Good understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and expense policies.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy with financial data.
• Confident using Excel and finance systems.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and improving processes.
• Good communication skills and the ability to support employees and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process and review employee travel and expense claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Review corporate card transactions, checking expense coding, supporting documentation and approval workflows.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, missing receipts and incorrectly submitted expenses.
• Perform reconciliations of expense accounts and corporate card transactions.
• Support month-end close activities, ensuring expenses are recorded in the correct period.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance.
• Respond to employee queries relating to expense claims, reimbursements and policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve expense processes and strengthen controls.
• Support the maintenance and application of T&E policies and procedures.
