Job summary

NV5, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager III for our Overhead Transmission Group in Walnut Creek, CA. You will oversee planning, design, and construction of T&D projects, work with a matrixed team, and drive bids and interviews with Marketing to win jobs.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in T&D or utility projects, a BS in engineering or related field, and strong skills in MS Office, Primavera P6, and SmartSheet; PMP is a plus. This hybrid role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or equivalent in engineering/related field.
• 10+ years of project management experience in Transmission & Distribution, Substations, or Utilities.
• Public utility design and construction experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Primavera P6, SmartSheet or related tools.
• PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage scope, schedule, and budget of individual projects.
• Coordinate with matrixed team to deliver tasks on time.
• Provide clear next steps to stakeholders.
• Monitor KPIs, critical path, issues and change management.
• Provide budgets, forecasts, and metrics for projects.
• Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders.
• Manage construction, procurement, invoicing, and project documentation.
• Build and maintain a network of consultants and vendors.
• Lead project acquisition activities with Marketing for bids/interviews.
• Apply client/industry design and construction standards.
• Negotiate solutions to client concerns or project overages.

Education

B.S. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Science, or relevant technical field, or equivalent training and experience
