Job summary

Avangrid in Orange, CT seeks a Manager of Transmission and Distribution Planning to lead a team ensuring reliable grid planning through regulatory alignment and advanced engineering.

You will oversee investments, performance metrics, and coordinated studies with regulators and ISO-NE, delivering cost-effective, future-ready solutions.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in T&D planning, strong leadership, and proven communication skills; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 8+ years in T&D planning, engineering, or operations.
• Proven leadership and cross-functional team management.
• Knowledge of utility operations and regulatory compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present.

Responsibilities

• Manages and develops engineering staff and sets department objectives.
• Develops performance measures and improves productivity.
• Conducts system evaluations to identify needs and propose solutions.
• Develops short- and long-range plans for reliability and capacity.
• Oversees investment planning and regulatory dockets; provides testimony when required.
