Job summary

Duquesne Light Company in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Supervisor, T&D Operations to lead field crews responsible for construction, maintenance, and restoration of the electric distribution system. This role focuses on safe, reliable, and efficient work while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

As a people leader, you will coach and develop staff, coordinate with engineers, project management, and work planning, and ensure resources are allocated to meet department goals.

Qualifications

• Completion of Utility Technical Training – OH Supervisor Lesson Plan within the first year in the role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or 5+ years OH/UG line work experience.
• Experience in construction and ability to work in an on-site, storm-responsive environment.

Responsibilities

• Upholds all safety and compliance standards for crews managed, including DVIR, NESC, OSHA standards.
• Directs construction and maintenance activities of field personnel to maximize productivity while ensuring safety and performance.
• Works with crew leaders, engineering, project management and work planning to ensure proper hazard assessment prior to work.
• Directs scheduling and assignment of daily work to senior line workers and crew members to ensure timely completion.
• Completes as-built documentation for changes in pole size, transformer size, phase, or circuit configuration.
• Directs accurate customer ETA updates and other Grid data.
• Directs safe use of tools and equipment, conducts spot checks on trucks for PPE items.
• Interfaces with contractors, other utilities, customers and departments for cost effectiveness.
• Ensures reports are updated on training and timely materials ordering to optimize resources.
• Conducts training, development and counseling to advance skills and responsibilities.
• Reviews timesheets and ensures accurate time recording in MyTime.
