Job summary

Duquesne Light Company is seeking a Supervisor, T&D Operations in Pittsburgh to lead and guide field crews responsible for construction, maintenance and restoration of the electric distribution system. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency and collaboration with stakeholders to meet service reliability goals.

The ideal candidate will have a engineering degree or significant OH/UG line experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage resources and training.

Qualifications

• Must complete the Utility Technical Training – OH Supervisor Lesson Plan in the first year in the role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial) or related field; prior construction experience preferred.
• In lieu of a college degree, 5+ years of OH/UG line work experience obtaining a journey level is required.

Responsibilities

• Upholds safety and compliance standards for crews managed.
• Directs construction and maintenance activities of field personnel to maximize productivity and safety.
• Plans work with crew leaders, engineering, project management and work planning to ensure hazard assessments.
• Directs scheduling and assignment of daily work to senior line workers and crew members.
• Completes as-built records for jobs with changes in pole size, XMFR size, phase, or configuration.
• Directs accurate ETI/ETR updates and grid data management.
• Oversees safe use of tools and equipment; ensures PPE compliance.
• Interfaces with contractors, other utilities, customers, and departments for efficiency.
• Directs timely ordering of materials and tracking of resources.
• Trains, develops and counsels personnel to build skills for greater responsibility and performance.
• Reviews timesheets to ensure accurate timekeeping.
