Job summary

Dawar Consulting seeks a Scientist – Discovery Biology/ T cells to join the San Diego team. The role focuses on discovery biology and T-cell based therapies, including non-viral T-cell engineering, high-throughput binder screening, and functional assays.

Work involves primary T cell handling, flow cytometry, and data analysis. This long-term contract position requires 2+ years wet-lab experience in industry settings, aseptic technique, and proficiency with FlowJo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or related biological science.
• Minimum 2 years of wet-lab experience, preferably in an industry setting.
• Strong aseptic technique and experience isolating primary T cells from PBMCs.
• Mandatory expertise in flow cytometry acquisition and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-viral engineering of primary human T cells using mRNA or transposon-based DNA systems via electroporation/nucleofection; monitor cell viability and expression.
• Isolate, maintain and expand primary T cells from PBMCs and Jurkat cells using aseptic techniques.
• Execute high-throughput binder screening and multi-color flow cytometry (FACS) to assess surface expression and phenotypic markers; analyze data using FlowJo.
• Conduct T-cell activation and functional assays, including cytotoxicity assays, cytokine profiling, and proliferation assays.
• Record protocols, deviations, raw data, and experimental results in ELN to support data integrity and filings.
• Support screening scale-up using liquid-handling robotics, as applicable.
