Job summary

Amentum is seeking a maintenance department leader for the T-38 program in Oklahoma. You will direct maintenance operations, manage flying schedules, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance with government orders and contract requirements.

Key qualifications include a relevant degree and extensive DoD experience, plus seven+ years of supervisory work in aviation or manufacturing. The role requires coordinating resources, documentation, and disaster-response procedures.

Qualifications

• Eight years of relative experience, five with DoD programs.
• Ten years total experience allowed in lieu of a degree, seven with DoD.
• Seven+ years supervisory experience in aviation, military, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read Government publications and technical orders.
• Analytical skills with risk management and decision support.
• Experience with unionized workforces is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the T-38 Maintenance Department operations.
• Ensure safe execution of maintenance, flying schedules and branch activities.
• Enforce adherence to technical data and procedures; adjust resources as needed.
• Provide supervisory coverage for each shift and manage certification rosters.
• Document maintenance actions accurately in the Maintenance Information System.
• Assess aircraft discrepancies for continued flight and review performance data.
• Oversee maintenance planning cycle and ensure qualified personnel with proper tools.
• Enforce safety directives and occupational safety standards on site.
• Report conditions affecting maintenance to the Production Supervisor.
• Support on-base disaster control duties and coordinate aircraft/SE movement.
