Job summary

CFD Research Corporation in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to lead verification planning and execution for a complex aerospace hardware system. You will work with systems engineering, mechanical and electrical engineers, controls, software, and test operations to ensure formal verification is objective and traceable.

The role emphasizes translating requirements into executable test activities, coordinating with SME teams, and delivering formal test results and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (systems, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, chemical) or closely related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in complex hardware development, system integration, testing, verification, or related activity.
• Experience with MIL-STD environmental, EMI/EMC, and E3 testing.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or executing engineering test plans, procedures, or reports.
• Ability to translate requirements into verification activities and test plans.
• Knowledge of test instrumentation, data acquisition, and engineering data analysis.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to maintain controlled documentation.
• Ability to coordinate with engineers, technicians, facilities, and customer representatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the integrated system verification test strategy and test planning.
• Organize requirements into efficient verification test events and minimize duplicate testing.
• Create formal verification test plans detailing objectives, requirements, configuration, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and integrate formal test procedures with input from engineering SMEs.
• Coordinate internal and external verification testing with teams, facilities, and customers.
• Define operating conditions, measurements, ranges, and acceptance criteria with SMEs.
• Ensure availability of instrumentation, data acquisition, and test capabilities.
