Job summary

LER TechForce in Indianapolis is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to lead embedded control system testing across labs, test cells, and field sites. You will define and execute integration and verification plans, collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, and field teams, and capture requirements to develop comprehensive system test cases.

The role emphasizes DFMEAs, risk reviews, project planning, and root cause analysis to guide trade-offs between hardware and software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products.
• 5+ years of experience integrating and testing complex embedded control systems.
• 3+ years of experience using structured root cause analysis methods.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, and field trial teams.

• Support root cause analysis and trade-off decisions between hardware and software/firmware testing.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products.
• 5+ years of experience integrating and testing complex embedded control systems.
• 3+ years of experience using structured root cause analysis methods.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience supporting systems engineering in cross-functional environments.
• Familiarity with root cause methodologies such as 5 Whys or 7-Step problem solving.
• Experience with RS-485 and CAN communication protocols.
• Experience troubleshooting embedded control systems.
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
• Familiarity with C, C++, and Linux development environments.
