SYSTEMS TEST ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA

As a Systems Test Engineer, you will support the development of test equipment used to verify and validate complex aerospace systems and components against product requirements, following a standardized design and development process. This role will focus on electromechanical actuation system testing, ensuring test setups accurately simulate real-world conditions to validate performance and reliability. You will collaborate closely with design engineers to support integration and system checkout activities using test assets in lab environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of test equipment used for verifying aerospace systems and components.
  • Contribute to project planning, status tracking, and risk identification related to test equipment and system integration activities.
  • Assist with the integration of avionics systems and subsystems to ensure alignment with safety and design requirements.
  • Support system-level integration and checkout activities in the Systems Integration Lab (SIL), including test setup, execution, and documentation.
  • Collaborate on harness design and ensure compatibility with both lab and aircraft configurations.
  • Assist in the creation of Bills of Materials (BOM) for test articles and lab hardware.
  • Provide support during environmental and EMI/EMC test campaigns in partnership with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with other engineering disciplines such as GNC, Perception, Safety, Systems, Flight Test, Software and lines of business as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience testing or integrating avionics or electromechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with lab test setups and systems integration environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with the specification, design, test, and data analysis of avionics or electromechanical systems.
  • Understanding of system integration principles, particularly in aerospace or other safety-critical industries.
  • Exposure to certification processes for flight-critical systems is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional team environments.
